Do you know that 1 million species have already gone extinct while many others face extinction due to man-made environmental problems? Or that with every second (even now as you read this) one and half an acre of forest is being razed down in some part of the world?

Environmentalists are people who take up the cause of environmental sustainability by creating awareness and taking steps to prevent pollution and environmental destruction. They are educated and trained extensively in different way of protecting the environment. Like hazardous waste management, integrated recycling zones, environment clearance, design services, project engineering and management, utility plant operation and maintenance, waste water management etc.

There are many opportunities available for an Environmentalist. A graduate of Environmental Sciences has immense scope in the fields like conservation, education, policy, research and much more. An environmental scientist begins his or her work in field exploration or sometimes in the laboratory as a technician or research assistant.
